If you accidentally dropped, or bumped your hard drive, then there might not be a solution to your problem but to have it be recovered on a database recovery firm (If your data worth some penny).

May we please know what model, and brand it is?
Is it a Western Digital Passport?
Or a drive (HDD) in an enclosure?

Western Digital Passport..
If it can be detected on BIOS, and seems ok in BIOS Initialization, the problem might be in the File system (Maybe a damaged Master Boot Record, File Allocation Table, or Master File Table)

We can recover your data if it is so very important...
But if you just want to revive the drive, then you can reformat it in DOS system (You can use free DOS and boot on Flash Disk, or in Bootable CDROM Drive, and if you still have a working floppy disk drive, use it).
